Olde Soot n Sticks

..well its almost back to the "better not pout,and you better not cry" season..A very busy time for Old Soot, who gathers the coal, and Sticks..who naturally gathers sticks. She's an old barn cat that lived in the reindeer stables so long she began to think she was one, till she realized no matter how hard she tried she just couldn't fly,and she has the bent tail to prove it! .

This is Holly..She is made of painted,sanded,stained and baked muslin. Her eyes are embroidered. Her mouth is is needle-sculpted. Her nose is made of an old stick, painted, and glued in.
Her clothes are a gruNgy ( baked in coffee and vanilla) homespun, which is a rusty red,black and cream colored plaid. I've sewn a rusty snowflake,which I painted an antique white, with a rusty bell to the top of her hood.
She is glued and sewn to an old bobbin.
She is I think..precious..I always feel like my dolls are my babies,lol..so of course I think she's precious! ;) But I can hope that you see in her, what I see in her. Add a small basket of frosted evergreens to her hands! :)

Snow Angel Crow Make-Do

I so love this doll..she just looks so warm and cuddly..gives your heart and your face a big smile. She can be made into a full size doll,with curvy sticks for arm, and sticks for legs..and adjusting her dress. There is a wing and arm pattern included in this pattern,so that you don't have to use twiggy garland, or pine garland, for her arms or wings.

She stands about 15 inches high on a bobbin. About 12 inches across with her wings, and close to 3 inches deep.

Finn has a colorwashed cheesecloth beard sewn to him..he's always been a lil onery, I tried to tell him, we had no wool for a beard..and you should've heard the commotion, he made over that, so being it is, what it is..he gladly accepted the beard we made for him..imagine having no whiskers..that would be a sin!
